Do I have to prove my income to get food from Freestore Foodbank?
Freestore Foodbank does not publish a requirement either way. Each partner pantry sets its own, so ask the pantry before you go, or call 513-381-7627. Do not assume you are turned away: most pantries in the Feeding America network serve anyone who says they need help.
How do I actually get food from Freestore Foodbank?
Two routes. (1) Direct from Freestore Foodbank: walk into the Customer Connection Center at 112 E Liberty Street, Cincinnati, which offers food plus health and hygiene products, clothing, and financial and housing help; it also runs the Liberty Street Market and the Bea Taylor Market. (2) Through the network: use the 'Find Food Pantry Near You' tool on freestorefoodbank.org to locate a pantry, shelter or community centre near you. For food benefits, call the Benefit Call Center on (513) 381-SNAP / (513) 381-7627, 8:30-15:30 Mon-Fri, or 833-389-FOOD (833-389-3663), or fill in the SNAP contact form on the Get Help page and someone calls you back within two business days. Spanish-speaking help: Ms. Lopez-Rangel, 513-357-4845, 8:30-15:30 Mon-Fri. United Way 2-1-1 is also listed, free, 24/7.
When is Freestore Foodbank open?
Its own sites publish hours: Community Resource & Distribution Center and the Customer Connection Center, 8:00-16:00 Monday to Friday. Bea Taylor Market and Liberty Street Market publish their own hours on their pages on the same site. Partner pantry hours vary - check them in the Find Food Pantry tool and call ahead.
Does Freestore Foodbank cost anything?
Free. Nothing on the page asks people receiving food for money.
What do I need to bring?
Not stated on the Freestore Foodbank page we read. Bring an ID and something with your address if you have them, and bags or a box for the food — but do not stay home for lack of paperwork; most pantries take you anyway.
